Our Master's Student and P.I. in training. Joaninha A.K.A. caldeira was born in Lisbon, got her high school diploma from Escola Secundária Professor Herculano de Carvalho in 2008, Joana Baço finished her undergraduate in Archaeology in 2012. She has worked in several land excavations and made her debew in nautical archaeology in Azores in AngraD CHAM’s project. She has worked in the Cascais Project and currently is working her thesis on the Anchors of Lagos and it is sponsored by Archaeological Association of the Algarve. Her hobbies include time with Rafa, the cats and her girl-scout duties.
Andreia Romão Machado
Our volunteer conservator. Andreia is one of the few conservator schooled in the arts of submerged heritage conservation. Work in the Portimão Municipality Museu, where she conserves artefacts from all types and ages. Works in underwater archaeology projects since 1994, and is currently finishing her Ph.D. in nautical conservation.
Oszkar Kato
Born on the 23.4.1977 in Transylvania (Romania) he is the only vampire on the Team. He holds an University Degree in Wood Engineering and works in carpentry in Portugal since 2002. Oszkar started diving in 2006 completing his PADI OWD. AOWD followed in 2010 has more than 110 dives on his belt. Started volunteering for the Project in the summer of 2012.

Professional photographer, Virgílio has collaborated on several underwater research projects and he is one of our volunteers in Lagos project.
Paulo Carmo
Technical Rebreather diver and a very patient dive buddy. Paulo enjoys diving as much he likes running his virtual computer empire as a Systems Engineer. Being an expert of computers, decided to upgrade to rebreathers because of the computer parts in them.
Amélia Silva
Technical diver and volunteer Amelia is trying to prove that she does not like diving. After countless dives in different parts of the globe, she advanced to technical diving and deeper dives to further her continued trial to prove that she really disgusts diving. When not underwater she is selling hertz waves for a major portuguese broadcast company.
Jorge Freire
Our visiting (often) nautical archaeologist Ten years experience in nautical and underwater archaeology, five of which working to the Council of Cascais. Pioneer in Cognitive and Landscape archaeology. Principal Investigator of several archaeological projects. Currently is the P.I. of Projecto Carta Arqueológica Subaquática de Cascais and of the Projecto Estudo, valorização e monitorização do complexo arqueológico São Julião da Barra.
Augusto Pereira
team volunteer Born in Lisbon in September 1964 he is a professional Skipper/boat engineer on the Yachting industry. He started diving in 2010 completing Padi OWD and AOWD. In 2011 he completed his Rescue diver and EFR primary and secondary care certificate. He is current in Training for his Divemaster with ""MOM" to be completed this year. With a total of 48 current dives he started Volunteering for Tiago Fraga's project in 2012.

Jorge Russo
Technical Rebreather diver and Gunboat aficionado. He is currently a researcher at CINAV - Naval Research Centre, a History Major student at Aberta University and a Member of the National Archaeology Society. He publishes regularly in Portugal and abroad, primarily about nautical and underwater archaeology of contemporary chronology, mainly steam navigation. Main interest lies in archaeography and methodological issues on relation, ship to wreck, in deep scuba diving environment. Involved in Maritime and Underwater Archaeology since 2004, his latest award was the First Prize of Jornadas do Mar in History.
Pedro Mendonça
Technical diver and volunteer. When not diving Pedro is working its filmmaker skills, and thanks to that we have a wonderfull video. Sometimes also manages is own firm, is greater fear is that someone will present him with an underwater phone.
